Ms Johanna Sävenmark
Our teacher Ms Johanna Sävenmark is a trained subject teacher in Swedish for grades 3-9, high school, and adult education, with a degree from Stockholm University. Originally from Stockholm, she now lives in Kalmar and speaks Swedish, English, and Dutch. Before joining Nordic International School in August 2020, she worked as a substitute teacher for middle school at Ljungbyholmsskolan. She appreciates the structured lesson plans and the students’ determination at Nordic. For her, “work hard, be kind” means focusing on students’ learning and personal development, creating a safe and supportive environment through the house system, and emphasizing social skills and resilience.
Ms. Sävenmark was drawn to Nordic International School for its clear structure, including line-ups, dress code, lesson plans, and consequence system, which she finds essential for maintaining a calm classroom environment. Outside of teaching, she has a strong interest in music and has sung in a choir for over ten years. She enjoys spending time in nature and has two daughters attending the school. Additionally, she completed military service at F7 Såtenäs as a weather assistant, working with pilots and meteorologists, which was a unique and rewarding experience.
